A) video kills radio
TV had given the audience the ability to see what was happening along with the music not like the radio where it only allows the audience listens, the TV also had a large market when it was first introduced and it was all the rage and radios were being casted aside to make room for the newer and better TV. Also the music superstars at the time also wanted to move into the newer TV and that meant there were lesser people available to put a show or sing on a radio, as everyone was attracted to TV. TV also impacts the audience with the video it shows; the video changes the style of many teenagers at the time to follow the outburst of music and young stars such as Elvis. It changes the habits of the audience, before they had to sit down and listen to the radio while they themselves are occupied doing something but with TV they can sit down and watch TV so they don’t only listen and they can see something. However when TV first came out it was very expensive and the radio was still a better option but later on as TV became cheaper, the use of radio declines.
B) Internet kills video
Internet has made music and music videos available to everyone; this beats TV by accessibility and its portability, as it can be anywhere while the TV has to be connected to a service. Internet also gave way for the creation of video websites such as youtube where people can paste their own videos. Internet has an advantage because the audience can watch which video they want and when they want to watch a video but with TV it depends on what it is showing at the time. Websites which allow you to download music are also very accessible and you can decide what to download and it is compatible with small devices such as the mp3 which makes listening to music compact and portable, they also offer music at low prices if not free for the music file. There are large markets for Internet music because it is worldwide and can be accessed from anywhere which is more efficient and gives the audience a larger variety of what music they can listen instead of depending on what the TV or the radio is playing at the time and it is also free unlike the TV.
